Writers’ Group

Tutor: Philip Bradbury

Friday 1.30 pm – 3.00 pm, City Mall

We are a group of writing enthusiasts who attended a six week U3A summer writing school and are continuing to meet. New members are very welcome.

The stories students write are in response to a weekly topic set by Philip and reflect the great diversity of style, approach and life experience of the participants.  There are big ideas, small gems, touching accounts, high drama, satire and lots of humour.

Topics have included chickens, fairy tales with a twist, embarrassing incidents, ‘how to’ descriptions, limericks, poems about clothing, crime story in Ipswich and much more.

The stories from the first six weeks have now been published as a book, Eloquence, and another is likely from the next batch of stories.
